Orange Pixie Lily features deep orange trumpet-shaped flowers with yellow stripes at the end of the stem in early summer. The flowers are great for cutting. Its narrow leaves remain green throughout the season.
Plant and grow
Orange Pixie Lily is about 12 inches tall at maturity and over 18 inches tall with the flowers, with a spread of 12 inches. Should be planted in bulk or used as floor coverings, individual plants should be spaced about 10 inches apart. It grows at a fast rate and under ideal conditions can live for about 10 years.
This plant grows best in full sun to partial shade. It grows best in medium to uniformly wet conditions, but will not tolerate standing water. It’s not specific about soil type or pH. It can withstand some urban pollution. This particular variety is an interspecies hybrid. It can be propagated by multiplying underground bulbs; however, is a cultivated variety.
