Asian lilies are not fragrant and their flowers tend to be smaller

A prolific bloomer, often fragrant from late spring to summer, lilies are a steadfast flower of summer borders. They are great for growing in containers, where they can be positioned in the border as and when you need them.
Asian lilies are not fragrant and their flowers tend to be smaller. In terms of color, however, they are beautiful – some of the most brightly colored lilies, with dazzling shades of yellow, orange, red and almost black, are Asian flowers. Lilies thrive in alkaline soil, so unless your soil has a low pH, you can plant the bulbs directly in the garden.
Asian lily Lilium ‘Lollypop’ produces large white flowers that are upward and slightly pink towards the tips. Tubers are best planted in the fall when they are still in full bloom. Plant Lilium ‘Lollypop’ in well-drained soil in full sun, ideally with some shade at the base to prevent the bulbs from drying out. Alternatively, tubers can be grown in deep crates, in compost made from humus.
